Stop praying. What I want you to do is go out into the world and enjoy your life. I want you to sing, have fun, enjoy everything I’ve made for you. Stop going into those dark cold temples that you built yourself and say they are my house. My house is in the mountains, in the woods, the rivers, the lakes, the beaches. That’s where I live and there I express my love for you. The only thing for sure is that you are here, that you are alive and this world is full of wonders.
This is God Speaking by Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677), Dutch philosopher
“This reminds me in two ways. One is how important the outside world is to me and being in the wilderness and how invigorating and refocusing that is. And second, is to not get caught up in the trappings of spirituality. We’ve built the artifices of spirituality and it is important to understand that we are here in this moment alive and that’s all we have. We need to enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it, and do good work.”
