Be still and know.
Psalm 46:10
“This quote is pithy, it’s profound, and it’s practical. I can even coordinate my breathing with it as a meditation. I’m breathing in Be, I’m breathing out Still. Still in Hebrew means letting go. It actually means letting ourselves let go. Another part is breathing in and know. Not knowledge, just knowing. Thich Nhat Hahn, the Vietnamese Zen Master, uses this sentence as a way of explaining Zen through Judeo-Christian practice. So I just love “Be still and know.”
