In May we received a $5000 grant from an angel donor. This will allow us to continue operating through June. We need another $15,000 to get us through this summer.
I know there are angels who can help us continue to deliver the life-affirming, socially and spiritually relevant information, practical knowledge, and perennial wisdom through the broadcasting of deep dialogues with trusted leaders in diverse fields of understanding.
Here is a brief rundown on what is exciting me at the moment as I pursue contacting and scheduling deep dialogues for new programming for New Dimensions.
I’m truly amazed and surprised by what I’m learning as I read the work of Rizwan Virk a computer scientist with the heart of a mystic, using video games to explain the virtual reality that we live in. His book is entitled: The Simulation Hypothesis: An MIT Computer Scientist Shows Why AI, Quantum Physics and Eastern Mystics All Agree We are In a Video Game.
Dougald Hine (whose essay I’ve reprinted in this issue of Editor’s Desk) offers guidance by standing firmly forward and facing the depth of the trouble we are in and finding the work that is worth doing, even in the ruins. I’m tremendously heartened by his view and the brilliant and insightful questions he is asking.
I’m also hoping to have a deep dialogue with Margaret Renkl, author of the upcoming book The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year. She reports on a year in her backyard and does so in the tradition of Annie Dillard’s Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and Terry Tempest Williams’ Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place. I’m truly excited to meet Margaret and share that meeting with all of our listeners.
These are just a few of the people I’m hoping to be able to present on New Dimensions.
