I recently received this note from a listener in Australia. I know she represents my own experience of New Dimensions. I’m often saying that I do this work as much for me as for listeners as I continue my own quest to evolve my own awareness and consciousness.
I was moved to write to you because of a conversation I had with a neighbour last week.
She’s a devout Christian currently completing her Doctorate in Divinity. She was interested in finding out the way in which I worship.
In describing my journey I went to my discovery of Shunymurti and Mooji who are devotees of Ramana Maharshi. I then described my long-term love affair with and my discovery of Ram Dass about ten years ago. It was through him I discovered Ramana Maharshi and many others.
I thought then of all the other people inspired me such as Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Michael Mead, Jean Houston and my favorite, Marianne Williamson. I remember reading her book—A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles and how it changed my life.
Then I began to wonder how it was that I knew about these people. How would I have known? I was raised in a very working-class family and, although, my mother was not a deep thinker she did love God.
It suddenly dawned on me that the reason I knew of these people was because of New Dimensions. In those days it was on the Australian Broadcasting radio at night and I absolutely loved it. It opened my eyes to the world. At some stage, about 10 years ago, it went off the air here so I stopped listening.
It was when I was recently looking through Spotify and I found it again. I was so happy and have been listening ever since. Its been a long time and your interviews continue to be great. You must have heard all the wisdom conveyed by your guests a thousand times over but every interview sounds like the first time. You always ask the right questions.
I heard you say “This is episode 3712” this morning and thought “My god what an achievement—Astounding.”
There is so much media now about similar subjects but you were the first and a tour de ’force and still going strong.
I want to say, thank you. I would not be so far along the path if it weren’t for your program. In practical terms I would not have been the partner, boss, or friend I am without your input.
