Seeding the Conversation for a Better World

“The purpose of New Dimensions is to deliver information, knowledge, and wisdom. It has been enormously effective in bringing innovative ideas of changing human consciousness to a cross-section of America, creating the context of physicist David Bohm’s “shared meaning,” which in turn coalesces the cultural shift. New Dimensions activates the imagination and the innate capacity within all of us to contribute and make a difference. It is through the exchange of ideas and information that we can be empowered and enabled to meet the future with greater energy and clarity.” – Michael Toms Your support and belief in New Dimensions

Editor’s Desk: Summer Solstice

Even though I am usually a night-owl, I made the commitment to participate in a Sunrise Solstice walk on June 21st. Not wanting to miss my most unaccustomed 3:30 am wake up call, I slept fitfully and even got myself out of bed before the alarm sounded. Anticipating not wanting to make any early morning decisions before my brain was fully awake, I had pre-set my coffee maker and laid my clothes out before going to bed. I felt a bit like a fireman/woman, ready to jump into them in the pre-dawn hour. This Sunrise Solstice walk was around the

Writing As A Way To An Awakened Life with Albert Flynn DeSilver

DeSilver describes how writing from the body rather than the head is a visceral experience that connects us with our intuition. He says, “Everybody is a creative person. It’s a matter of where you have been putting your attention. . . This is an invitation to reconnect with the power of your imagination.” He tells us that poetry and stories can help us tap into our own creative process, which is extremely helpful to becoming a better writer. He also encourages us to embrace the editing and re-writing process as part of the entire endeavor. In his book DeSilver advises us to

Moving From “Datastan” to “The Republic of Story”

A Missionary’s Daughter In Haiti with Apricot Irving

As a child, Apricot Irving grew up in a sparsely populated desert near Idyllwild, California. When she was six years old her father took a job as an agriculture missionary in Haiti. Suddenly she was surrounded by people everywhere. She says, “You wake up in the morning and people want to shake your hand and ask you how you slept and how your family’s doing. It’s a very animated, interpersonal existence. I instinctively responded to that energy – there was so much to discover. There were lizards on the walls which would puff up their throats. There were incredible rainstorms and
