Product Description

Through a series of synchronistic experiences, Joseph Cusumano was compelled to read, re-read and ultimately re-interpret Charles Dicken’s classic, A Christmas Carol. Cusumano sees the story as much more than a heartwarming Christmas fable, and believes it offers keys to a spiritual rebirth. We all have a bit of Scrooge inside us, and it’s time we took off our hats to the hero Scrooge became. Even more importantly, we need to face how children are being treated today, so that we may awaken our compassion toward them like the compassion Scrooge felt when he saw himself as a little boy, abandoned and alone. As Scrooge found out, it’s a sad thing to die unloved and alone but, as Cusumano points out, “What a wonderful thing to die if you’re a person who has lived the life of a true man. For a true man, good deeds flow from the wound.”

Cusumano is a licensed therapist who runs a private practice mental health office specializing in psychospiritual growth, a high school literature teacher and the author of Transforming Scrooge: Dickens’ Blueprint for a Spiritual Awakening (Llewellyn 1996).
